Yeah...
I guess this is it.
I think im still really sad that its actually finally over. The entire weekend felt like a total blur. I still can't deal with the fact that it actually happened. When I was there, it felt like it wasn't really happening. But I think that I left on a really good note with my speech and I said what I felt. I owe congress so much, it has helped me shape who I am today. And I'm just going to follow my own personal tradition of saying thank yous.
UMC- Not a day goes by when I don't think of at least 10 of you. You guys are my heart and soul.
Herricks- You guys are amazing speakers and great people. Some of you know sports, some of you know statistics. Whichever it is, you know completely. I wish everyone could take a lesson on how to speak from you guys. It would do injustice to you to say anything otherwise.
Lynbrook- It's a shame that I never really got to know any of you. But I know that you guys had a presence at each congress you went to and I completely respect you for that.
Tri-D- You guys are small but incredibly strong. Each and everyone of you has a crazy but great personality and when any of you are in a room, you are the life of the party and that is cool. Allie, Kara, Sarah, Monique, Genna, you guys are flat out amazing kids. I can't imagine congress without any of you this year. It really is a shame we didn't meet earlier. And of course, without this year I never would've met Vanessa <3.
East Meadow- I don't know how to explain what I feel for you guys. I kick myself everytime I think of the fact that I didn't meet you guys before this year. Each one of you is known by everyone in congress and you don't let it get to your heads. To all of those that I didn't really know well, I noticed your presence even though we never really spoke to one another. Jenna, you are one of the best friends I have ever had. I love you and will miss you so god damn much. Zach, Dennis, Harrison, Con, and Jeremy, you guys need to be counted as one. I have never met so many people that can make me think so deeply, challange my skills, or make me laugh so much. You have taught me so much about life and so much about myself, and for that, I am in debt to you forever. Marisa- Well, I love you. I am going to college with you, and that is going to be so sick. I am so excited to spend my next four years with such a cool person.
New Rochelle- One of the most gigantic presences in Model Congress. I see you all as one of the most unified delegations in congress. Sam, I just met you this year, and I loved every minute i was with you. You make me smile and you make me laugh, and I love you for it. Josh, I think everyone has the same feeling for you. You carry such a confidence and such a great personality on your back and I can't imagine new ro without you. Nick. I wont lie, I don't really agree with you whenever you speak because of some of your views. But that does not mean I recognize you speaking ability and the way you carry yourself. You are a respectable man. Brian, you are the new rochelle version of me. We both agree that finance chairs do not do work, and we both have huge obsessions with sports. I will miss you so much, and hopefully either I will visit you in Albany or you will visit me in Buffalo. Glen, you are just one of the most amazing kids in congress. All that I really need to say to you is, "Keep my mom out of this and I'll keep this out of your mom."
Lawrence- This is the delegation that everyone knows. There are so many kids in this delegation and I feel like I know so many of you. Waqas, Serge, Silbs, and Paul, you guys are so cool. I feel that you are like my little brothers from Lawrence and each of you are so great. Mandlebaum- I never knew you in congress until Lawrence of this year. And to think, I was your counselor. I'll see you and your brother in camp, you two are great kids, and never let anyone say otherwise. Andrea- I just met you recently and all I can say is that I love how crazy and outgoing you are and I wish I could be as confident as you :). Christine. In the very beginning, you were Josh's girlfriend. And that was pretty much it. But throughout congresses and hangouts, I have met Christine J. Reilly, and I have to say I am still being impressed to this day. You have such a strong love for congress and such great speaking skills. I hope that you and Josh stay together and taht we remain friends for such a long time. Lisa and Raquel, I just met you guys but I feel like i've always known you and it feels so right. I think we bonded somewhat at New Rochelle and that is when we became friends. One of my favorite things to see is when I'm at a hangout and one of you pops out and I see you. Mickey- You are a great girl, and though you may have had some drama this year with other people, I love you to death. You are a great speaker and an amazing friend. You greet people with such kindness and you are straightforward with everything. I find that pure and respectable. <3. Matt, I just got to know you. But you are a great guy. I met you in East Meadow with you dressed up as a nurse in my committee. You have such a personality and such a sense of humor and fun. I feel like your a close to home version of my big brother, and to me that means a lot. I could not think of a better person to have sitting next to me during senior speeches. Postman- Whenever I hear about the great postman, I think of two years ago. We were at herricks congress and I did not know you and you didn't know me. But I remember, you were the only lawrence delegate there. And I think that was the beginning of the rule of postman. You are one of the best speakers in congress if not the best. I respect you as a friend and as an example to live my life by.
Hewlett- What can I say about all of you. Everytime i see any of you with someone, you bring joy to their lives. You carry such happiness and such glee with you and it makes for a great feeling during every congress. Gerz, Mitch, Watty, Crane, Briana, Marisa, Lindsay, and Izzy, you kids are so great. I didn't start getting to know you until late this year, but I am so happy for the time that we had together no matter how short it was. I love all of you and good luck with board selection and remember, if you don't get on, stay with it. By the way, that was one of the funniest skits I have ever heard, bravo to you and the rest of the juniors who made it. Khalatov and Deepak, you two are like my brothers in hewlett. Whether it is knife fighting or playing ultimate frisbee or just talking to one another, I have the time of my life with you two. God speed. Steph, Jean, and Cara- I met you three at Tri-D last year. Ever since then, I have become such a better person and I have benefitted from being your friends. I love you three forever and I never want to lose touch with any of you ever. Spiros- You two are so god damn cool. I respect both of you to the highest degree whether its speaking skill, volleyball skill, or just the ability to be a good and kind person. Though this is not goodbye to you, I really just want to say how much you mean to me and how much I appreciate your friendship. Amanda. I met you too recently I think. I really wish I could go back in time and spend more time with you. You make me feel right at home whenever i see you, and i love you for it. You almost made me break down so badly on stage when you actually used me in your senior speech. I love you and I will see you soon. Shari- You are the purest soul in existence. I love you and would do anything for you, which includes giving you my sleeping bag :). I can't wait until the next time i get to hang out with you because that will be such a fun day.
Oside- You are the my favorite delegation because I know all of you through and through. Not only that, but I respect all of you. Good friends dont always come in such a large package. Little and Big Margolis, you guys are great and talented in whatever you do. Justin and my other risk players, you are extremely intelligent and extremely witty, I will miss that most about you. Pettas, you are just a bundle of laughs and a great guy to be around. I really wish there were more people like you. Ferris, I just met you and I can't believe how cool you can be. Good luck with everything you encounter next year. Okay, heres the harder part. Stu and Trish, now one might think, why put two of your closest friends in the same thing. Well, two years ago, i met three people in model congress. They were my first three friends there. They had the names of Troy, Rufus, and Trish. Now Troy or Tony is not in congress anymore. Rufus, was the name Lucas used to call stu cause way back when, Lucas was terrible with names, so he just made up ones for people. And Trish is still Trish. For the next three years Stu and Trish were my two favorite kids in congress. Still to this day they are, and I can't imagine the entire experience without them. I love both of you, and hopefully we can stay in touch for as long as possible.
To past congressors and exec board members- Thank you for giving me this gift of this club. Because of you the club still existed by the time the torch was passed to my fellow board members and me.
Long Beach- I have given so many speeches to you on bus rides, I don't think that I have anything left in me to say to you that wont sound repetative. You are all part of me and to lose any of you is a completely tragedy to me. I wanted to go into names and say thanks to all of you, but that does not do you justice. You are all a united body of friends and I look up to all of you as great people. To the new delegates, I hope that Lucas, Rifkin, Steve, Allie, Batus, and I did a good enough job to make you want to stay and tell all of your friends about this club. To the Sophmores, each of you has a great and different personality that separates you all from everyone else in congress. I will love each and everyone of you and cherish our friendship until the day I die. To my juniors. Each one of you has been with me since I started this club in sophmore year. I hold you all in the highest regard as a brother or a sister. Good luck with board applications and remember that it really isnt being on board that matters. Yes it is a privelege that most people would like, but i know so many seniors that did not get on board and had the time of their lives this year.
Devin- You become a better speaker everytime I listen to you. You used to not be able to convey your ideas very well but now everytime i speak i either hear the person next to me say wow, or I say that was one of the most intelligent things I have ever heard. Good luck with wherever life takes you, and if it takes you to a dangerous place, stay strong buddy.
Rae- You are a great kid. I can't believe that I did not know you all these years and that we never were friends last year. I cherish every moment I am with you and I hope that you have a great life. Remember to stay strong and stay true, because if you do, everyone will love you.
Batus- I never really got to know you that well. I can honestly say that you are one of the funniest kids I have ever met and you are also a really great speaker. I hope that we can stay in touch throughout the years.
Ricky- You are my boy dude. We are both members of BK so that explains that right there. Though you weren't in congress that much, you were a great delegate and a great friend. "Make me a sandwich", I think that will echo through congress history.
Steve- I dont think i've ever worked with a more intelligent person and I don't think I ever will. You are a great leader and an even better friend. You put up with a lot of crap and you don't let any of it get to you. I respect that so much. I hope whether you get on board or not, that you stay with this club next year because i dont think it could afford to lose Steve Bloomenfeld. Good luck.
Allie- I won't lie, I never really knew you that well when we worked with one another last year as entertainment chairs. But this year you taught me so much about how to have a good work ethic and how to have fun at the same time. You are a free and outgoing spirit and I will miss you so much over the years. The thing I respect about you the most is that you say things how they are and you stick to it. You are a loyal leader to all of your delegates and you proved that to me so much this past year and especially this past weekend. I hope that if you do or do not get board that you stay with this club. Good luck.
Lucas, Rifkin, and Tous- You have been my friends my entire life. I cannot imagine life without any of you, it just wouldnt feel right. Whether we were making ridiculous movies or playing halo for days on end, those were the happiest times of my life. I have never worked with such great guys before and you were always there when I needed you to be there. No matter how many times we fought, whether you hit me with a bookbag, wrestled with me at Lucas' Bar Mitzvah, or got your desk flipped, you guys are my brothers for life. I idolize each of you and I never ever want to lose touch with any of you. God speed to all three of you wherever life takes you.
Thank you for everything, all of you.
