Matryoshka

My parents just returned from a Baltic cruise, which included two days in St. Petersburg. Of course, they picked up many wonderful souvenirs for their daughters.

I know from my own travels that you can find souvenir matryoshka dolls to fit any obsession, including University of Maryland basketball players. So I am not surprised at the HP ones. But they definitely amuse me.

First, we have Quarterback Harry

Look at the shoulders on that kid!

And then there's Eyebrow Pencil Ron

Who has no arms

Hermione and Hagrid came out blurry, but no matter, from the group picture you can probably tell that it's fandom Hermione with poker-straight hair. It is fitting that this version of Hagrid, originating in Russia, looks eerily like Rasputin.

But I ask you...

Is this supposed to be Griphook? That's all I could come up with. But why? How? Why did the artist choose this particular character? I could understand Dobby, or Crookshanks, or... anyone...

Whoever it is - it's kind of scary.
