Where Does it Come From?

I have just spent the last twelve hours rearranging my apartment YET again. I'm channeling bbennett. I still have so much to do. The rearrangement that I did in December was like a test run. Tonight I moved bookshelves that haven't been moved in seven years. It was very therapeutic to remove the scrap of carpet that remained underneath them.

I have a "concept" for the apartment. Q. is out of town so I'm not sure how he'll feel about it. I decided to segregate our books, because I know my books annoy Q. and his annoy me. We sort of had two shelving "sections" in the apartment, so I thought - easy! I'll just move one section to the other room and we probably have equal amounts of books, so it should all work out... right? I don't understand the math.

12 shelves - 3.14 shelves of Q's books = more room for me, right?
Then, calculate the ten bags of books downstairs that I am discarding and subtract them from the shelf space.

Should be plenty of room, right? RIGHT? SO WHY DID I RUN OUT OF SPACE BEFORE I EVEN MOVED ON TO THE OTHER SECTION OF BOOKSHELVES???

I still can't fit them all in my new arrangement. I could honestly get rid of about twenty more, but don't want to go overboard. In the past year, I think I must have given away over 200 books. I don't know where I put everything.

Argh. I still have a whole other room to work on. That will have to be Sunday. If my body lets me. And I still haven't cleaned anything!

Will it ever end? I'm telling y'all. I could go live in a tent.
