To any Canadians out there ...

We're thinking of taking a long weekend trip to Montreal in December. Any one have any suggestions of where to stay, places to see, etc.? D's been working like a dog and we want to take the kids somewhere nice before the holidays set in.

Thanks in advance :)

I can ask meallanmouse for you, she's in Montreal and I stayed with her and her husband back in July. :)

Go to: a museum called Chapelle Notre-Dame de Bonsecours, an old building called Marche Bonsecours and another museum called Chateau Ramezay Museum. I also hear that Crescent Street is a must-visit because of its offerings, if any of this is of any help. I'm sure cab-drivers wouldn't object to giving you directions. And you can, of course, look those places up on the net if you wish. Hope you guys'll have a good time.

So it's not in Montreal proper, but there's a place a bit outside of it called Montebello -- think extremely luxurious log cabin after several sets of steroids -- with extensive grounds and sporting facilities and really quite good food. I was there one December and it was very pleasant indeed.
