Li Jia Heng is born Tuesday November 6 1990. Outside the hospital the sun is shining in Guangzhou, and the humidity is lower than the previous days. It is regarded as a good sign for Jia Heng's life.

The following days Jia Heng receives another name from his parents, Wu Fan.

When Wu Fan is six years old, he sees a magic show on TV. Wu Fan decides that he wants to become a magician.

Three years later Wu Fan has moved to Canada with his family and in Canada Wu Fan becomes Kevin Wu. The new surroundings and culture are unfamiliar to him, the new language difficult to learn, but he is quite content. Wu Fan likes Canada.

At the age of 14 Wu Fan returns to China. Wu Fan becomes the captain of his school's basketball team and dreams of becoming a professional basketball player start to form in his mind.

A year later Wu Fan returns to Canada. In Canada, school and everything it brings along dominate Wu Fan's life.

After a few months Wu Fan's interest in basketball diminishes while his interest in rapping develops. He has another change of heart regarding his future. Wu Fan wants to become a rapper.

During the next year Wu Fan enters rapping competitions. He wins some, but loses those that matter the most.

It is fall 2007 when S.M. Entertainment reaches Vancouver and Wu Fan gets his chance. S.M. Entertainment is happy with Wu Fan's audition.

Only two years later Wu Fan receives a stage name; Kris. Kris is going to debut with three other trainees in a new project group.

Kris's group disbands the year after. S.M. Entertainment is preparing for another rookie group, and Kris’s band is not successful enough for them to keep. The project has failed. Wu Fan feels broken. They promise that Kris will get another chance, but he is in doubt. Wu Fan isn’t sure if he wants to continue. He misses his family whom he has not seen the past two years. He is worried about his future. Wu Fan is lonely in Seoul.

A half year later Wu Fan tells the company he wants out. The company doesn't oppose and lets him go.

After staying some months in Canada with his family, Wu Fan decides to return to Seoul to study. Finishing high school had been difficult for him as a trainee, but his grades never fell. Getting accepted into a university does not turn out to be a problem for him.

Before Wu Fan returns to South Korea, he changes his name to Wu Yi Fan.

Yi Fan is confident in his Korean, but he still feels slightly insecure as he attends his first classes. It doesn't turn out to be a problem though and the other students are nice enough to help him out whenever he is doubt of something.

In a few days, Yi Fan feels as if he has settled nicely into his new life. He feels satisfied with his choices. Studying psychology was a good decision for him, he believes.

In another few weeks Yi Fan has established a social life. With his new friends and acquaintances, Yi Fan realizes that he may not be as straight as he had thought himself to be. He finds that he is quite fond of one of the many guys from one of his many classes.

Twenty days have gone by before Yi Fan finds out that Park Chanyeol quite like him too.

After some months Yi Fan's feelings for Chanyeol have withered and changed. Their break-up isn't really considered a break-up, because Chanyeol tells him that he feels the same way.

It is Yi Fan who introduces Chanyeol to Yixing. It is Yixing who introduces Chanyeol to Jongdae, and Jongdae lets Chanyeol meet Byun Baekhyun. Nineteen days has passed. Yi Fan likes Baekhyun. Yi Fan likes Baekhyun even more with Chanyeol.

Another eight weeks pass by and Yi Fan meets Oh Sehun, who has a friend he would very much like to let Yi Fan meet. Yi Fan is reluctant though. He isn’t sure about being set up; even if it is in a friendly matter, but Sehun is eager and Yi Fan finds it difficult to refuse the boy.

In fifteen days Yi Fan meets Sehun’s friend. Yi Fan thinks he is attractive, handsome even. They are at a party. Sehun’s friend is obviously shy and not sure what to make of himself as Sehun disappears after a quick introduction that is swallowed by the loud music. Yi Fan is only able to catch what he assumes to be his name. Huang Zi Tao. A Chinese name. When Tao tells Yi Fan that his Korean isn't very good with a strong accent, Yi Fan confirms his suspicion of why Sehun wanted them to meet. Yi Fan tells Tao that it's okay in his mother language. Tao smiles brightly at learning that Yi Fan is Chinese as well.

After some hours and an unknown number of minutes Yi Fan leans in to kiss Tao. As their lips touch Yi Fan realizes that he doesn't know Tao's sexual orientation, so Yi Fan quickly pulls back. Tao leans in for a second kiss.

Yi Fan is happy with Tao. Yi Fan can tell that Tao is happy with him as well. Korea, his life, Yi Fan thinks, is easier with Tao by his side.

After two years Yi Fan finds his own apartment and moves out of the hall of residence. Tao follows him.

It is spring 2016, a Wednesday afternoon when Yi Fan returns home, exhausted after a long day and lets himself fall down onto his sofa and turns on the television.

It is after eight channels Yi Fan stops pressing the button on his remote.

It takes Yi Fan two minutes to put a name on the face he recognizes on the screen. Lu Han. Yi Fan remembers Lu Han as one of the trainees of S.M. Entertainment. The voice-over on the channel tells Yi Fan that it is four years since the band Lu Han is a member of debuted. Today is their 4th anniversary.

Lu Han looks different from when Yi Fan last saw him. Lu Han's hair is dyed light brown, nicely styled, his clothes tight on his slender body, maybe branded with a name Yi Fan can't pronounce, and probably too expensive for Yi Fan to even touch. Lu Han reminds Yi Fan of everything he dreamed of. Lu Han reminds Yi Fan of Kris.

After twelve minutes of watching Lu Han, Yi Fan realizes that his life did not turn out the way he wanted at all.

The devastating feelings Yi Fan had when he lost Kris returns after six minutes. He wonders if he should have stayed in S.M. Entertainment. Would he have debuted like Lu Han - maybe even with him? Would he have been successful the second time? Would everything he had dreamt of become true?

Four minutes later Yi Fan is still pondering about his lost future as an idol as Tao walks into the room and sits beside him. Yi Fan shakes his head and turns to look at Tao.

Within the next seventeen seconds Tao manages to smile at Yi Fan, Yi Fan to smile back, brush a hand to move Tao's hair from his eyes before letting the hand rest on Tao's cheek and pull him in for a kiss.

Three seconds pass before Yi Fan feels Tao lean in closer and wrap his arms around him.

One second ticks by.

Yi Fan is happy.
