Whoa-oh, we're halfway there

Hard to believe I'm already at the halfway mark for this.  Yesterday and today was pretty intense, with mock job interviews all afternoon yesterday and all morning today.  I managed to make different mistakes in each of them, which is...something, I guess.  This afternoon, I was supposed to teach a 40-minute lesson (just a very basic intro to Greek heroic myth, like one would use to introduce The Odyssey to ninth-graders), but my would-be students were all hijacked for another activity so I'll be doing it Friday.

Tomorrow, I have an interview at El Buen Samaritano, an Episcopal mission serving the low-income Latino population with a food pantry, child care, and ESL, GED and citizenship classes.  I'll be assisting one of the full-time teachers, don't know which class yet, if I get the position.

Got my ticket to see VNV Nation today.  I'm not that big on solo clubbing, but I wanted to see at least one music show while I was here and this is the one most relevant to my interests.  New outfit's not happening, less because of financial reasons than simply not having the skill to dress myself.

(I mean, I can put pants on, tie shoes, tie a necktie, etc., and know reasonably well when something clashes, but actually wandering around a clothing store trying to pick out pieces that will look good together as an ensemble in a style with which I've never experimented?  That's something beyond my solo ability.)
