i really love camus. it's aged incredibly well. the outsider is great! i enjoy books like that, even if they are sometimes driven more by theoretics than plot. ever read jp sartre's 'nasea'? rather in the same line. very first year university, but still pretty special. you feel a bit of a pretentious cunt pulling it out to read it on the tube or in a coffee shop ("damn, where's my black beret now?") but it's totally worth reading.
actually, i'm reading 'the age of reason' at the moment!
i tried 'nausea' a few years ago, when i first got to london. i don't know if i was too young at the time or what, but i couldn't get on with it at all. i'll see how i get on with 'the age of reason' and maybe re-tackle it at some point.
by the way, what are you doing about snowboarding this season? i'm not plugging a holiday or anything, i'm just interested! i'm so fucking stoked right now (and it's only october!) that i could shit!
dunno. definitely want to get up a few times. only went once last season. im gonna back to vancouver this christmas, so i'm planning to head up to whister for a few days (!!!) while i'm there. but i'm owed so much time off in-lieu that i could probably not come in for all of january, so i'm up for a few other trips. when/where you going this season?
big trip in january. like 16 of us i think! something mental like that. probably to france, maybe to austria. though you don't really get chalets in austria (it's more about pensions) and it's chalets is where we're at. it means we can all hang out at the end of the day, without having to go to the pub, and all the food and (nasty cooking wine) booze is included. the numbers keep going up and down (but mostly up), so it's a pain in the arse to book. i'm going to wait until around the time of the ski/snowboard show i think though (next week)
then in march, me maw and adam are going to oregon to hit mt.hood meadows, and mt.bachelor in bend. (with a small possibility of a few days in whistler). we're going to hire a car and spend 2 weeks between those spots. mari knows someone in portland, so he's going to take a week off and show us where to session at hood, and possibly get us free passes or something for our time at bend.
i'm stoked about both for different reasons. it'll be the most time i've spent boarding so far (3 weeks).
