February 16th
Last night was so fun! I went out to dinner with Nuria, Raquel, Alex, George, Matt (not Pat), Hilary, Vanessa, and two other Spanish girls I didn’t know. We had Chinese which was basically the same although the spring rolls were as big as a whole plate rather than the size of a delicate tea coaster.
I enjoyed practicing my spanish with people my age. Mayte keeps telling me to go hang out with Cris and her friends but when it comes right down to it Cris and her friends are 15 and I just flat out can’t handle it.
I had a very unpleasant sleep last night and I believe it’s because the anti-inflammatories that the Dr. gave me aren’t quite as magical as Ibuprofen. So I ended up having to take both as well as an anti-biotic. I also am getting a sore throat, I have a headache, and just to put the icing on top of the cake, my new credit card didn’t work so I’m temporarily flat broke. To put it simply, this hasn’t been my best week in Spain. I figure that it can only be up from here!
Tonight is the beginning of Carnaval but I don’t really feel well enough to go out. Lucky me it lasts all weekend so I’ll go out and about tomorrow. There’s no chance I’ll miss it since it is the biggest Carnaval celebration in all of Spain!!!
