I asked my friend to go see Gale Harold play…
she did :-)
It all started long time ago, when I first heard about the play, immediately I knew I can never go:
A) I live too far away (17 hours direct flight (24 hours with connections)).
B) I don't have the cash or time-off from work (just came back from vacation (was in NYC and Boston))
C) Just bought my first apartment, and there are so many things I need to arrange before moving (mortgage is one of them), have I mentioned no money to spend?
So there was no way I could go, and I was ok with that.
Then one of my friends told me she has some project in San Francisco and she will fly for 2 weeks on February, so I was thinking, this is California, closer from Israel that for sure.
I told her this is the closest place to LA one of us will be and she should go and see the play (I actually begged her to go), but she said, no way am I going to help you with your sick obsession, I won't drive/fly to LA, I only go if you will come with me (well I can't go (see above reasons).
I had a week to convince her, but she was stubborn.
so I talked to another friend, she lives in Boston now and she's the one who actually introduced me to QAF and Gale, I told her about the play, she was actually very enthusiastic and said she might go if her husband will agree, well he did and they went.
They went to the last week play, they met Gale after.
She told me she was very nervous and petrified, and acted all teenager and stupid.
He came right after and wanted to put his guitar in the case, she came to him and ask for a picture, he agreed, she said he looked hot, but she felt like he was in a hurry or just kind of impatient or just wanted the all fan thingy to be finished.
She told him she came from Israel, he was not impressed and said, ok
Then she told him about her friend (me) how big fan she is, and he said, oh yea and then they took pictures and she asked him to signed a program for me.
He did, but spelled it wrong, so he took another program and signed again properly.
He coughed a lot and apologized not wanting to infect anyone, so she told him that ok, we will tell everyone we got it from you, he smiled, and moved on to other fans.
She felt really bad that she couldn't really say anything smart, just mumbled some words, instead of going into small conversation.
She summaries it as greatest unforgettable evening, Gale was very nice but seemed to be tired or sick or a little impatient.
