1. I'd like to go on the record and say that I'm not blaming anyone specifically.
2. I'm not debating the fact that it's amazingly generous of these bands to volunteer their time and play...I just don't enjoy listening to them. You're making it sound like I don't even care about what they're doing for this cause.
3. "its not about who's playing its about the cause the fact that our gov't doesnt give enough to less fortunate countries when they say they will. its a protest. and barrie is the only place where they can hold it to hold that amount of people and allow it to be free. its not live 8's fault that toronto wants so much money in order to play on downsview or anywhere else. as long as we have one in canada is all that matters and we should be happy that its close enough to us so that we have the option of going."
I'm not a complete moron...sometimes I actually do think about things and understand how things work. Plus the fact that regardless of why they picked Barrie, I would still be disappointed because even though it's still in Canada (and that's great) obviously it would be a lot easier to get to the concert if it was closer to home.
4. "you cant cry over spilt milk."
I understand what you're saying, but just put yourself in my shoes for a minute. Think of what it would feel like if all of a sudden The Ramones (came back fromt the dead and) got back together...I think you'd be pretty frigin' upset if you couldn't go, considering it would most likely be a once in a lifetime opportunity. Well, multiply that upsetness by 150 000 and that's how I feel right now. I'll get over it eventually, but still...
5. I still wanted to go anyways because of the whole Deep Purple/Motely Crue thing, but tickets sold out in 21 minutes...so much for that.
In summary, I think it's a great cause and I really appreciate all of the bands who came out to play...however, I'm still disappointed in the lineup cause the music that's going to be played in Barrie just isn't my thing.
