There's something both reassuring and sad when you take a moment to look around at the people you meet, talk, and work with and see people who's minds shine like suns. Those people who make you feel that your knowledge and intelligence are at best average, whose charisma makes you feel like a wallflower just by existing.
It's sad because all those dreams you had about changing the world seem to just fade away when you realize your competition can effortlessly kick your ass. On the other hand, it makes up for the sheer stupid that the human race sometimes tosses in your face. There's also that little thrill of hope that with people like this around we can turn problems around and make things better.
