Summary: Against his better judgement, Zoro keeps Sanji company in the middle of the night.
It’s Sanji’s turn to take watch in the crow’s nest, huddled against night’s chill. Zoro joins him. (Someone needs to make sure the doofus doesn't fall asleep.) Sanji braves the cold with a a yawn and a grimace. The chef rolls a cigarette as soon as they're up the mast- fingers stiff, lids heavy.
Zoro leans against the railing next to Sanji and watches him smoke, staring out at the sea. Sanji exhales slowly; smoke drifts over the waves. He pauses to wet a finger, tongue darting out pink and quick. Then, slowly, carefully, he pets the burning edge of the cigarette, murmuring about shitty papers. Zoro stares at his mouth.
When Sanji’s finished, and they’re side by side under a rough cloth blanket, the swordsman’s fingers touch Sanji’s lips, petting and stroking. Touches become kisses, kisses become more. They have all the time in the world.
