...so apparently I can't log into livejournal on the secure server anymore? I'm a little alarmed about that. It says I can, but when I click that option on the secure server page, it directs me back to the regular login screen, which I can tell is not the secure server, as it has a link to the secure server page. Not cool.
Anyway, I was going to quick say that yesterday I led a tour alone for the first time! There were three sets of people on it. I managed to do everything in the right time frame, although I keep remembering important stuff I skipped. >_<
I also had a hilarious thing happen in math class. We were talking about horocycles and trying to imagine them in our space. Mr. Tavani had this convoluted metaphor/example about what happens when you turn the steering wheel in a car at a certain degree in Euclidian space, and what happens when you turn the steering wheel of a spaceship at a certain degree in Lobachevskian space. I didn't quite get it. Josh thought for a few moments, said, "Oh, right, now I see. Yeah." and I was still confused, so I said:
"Ok, we don't have to pursue this, but I'm still a little confused about the spaceship thing. I'd like to understand it, it sounds really cool."
Mr. Tavani: "Miss T, I'll show you my spaceship later."
[nervous titters from the class]
Mr. Goldberg (tutor): "Miss T, don't fall for it!"
[class starts outright laughing]
Mr. Tavani: "You can take a ride on my spaceship."
Me: "Well, with lines like that..."
^Unintentional pun!
Precept was better than before. We drew a diagram on the board, which is always my favorite thing- I keep picking precepts where the author lends himself to diagramming or charting or outlining.
I feel kind of lame because I am responsible enough to not start reading the 13th Wheel of Time book (which came out today! which I bought today! which is sitting three feet away while I do my massive amounts of school-related reading!) until I get a certain portion of my Thursday work done. (Wednesday is already taken care of.) It looks fat and juicy and like it will be full of Mat. Sanderson!Mat, which just isn't the same as RJ!Mat, but ah well. Also it will be full of scenes set in or related to Seanchan, I'm hoping, because the titular Towers of Midnight are definitely in Seandar. Two out of three of my favorite WoT things, guys! (The third is Verin/the Brown Ajah.)
I promise to only make one or two posts detailing my thoughts on the book this time. I'll edit the play-by-play post instead of making new ones. :D
