in which I foolishly get my hopes up

The only summer job I have so far is dorm-cleaning, which is temporary. I may be able to work in the jewelry/accessory store in those same two weeks, but that time frame is the only one in which the owner will probably need someone. So after those two weeks I don't have anything lined up officially, because every other place I applied to or looked into rejected me/is full. Eurgh.

BUT I found out about a paid advertising internship being offered from June 1st to September 3rd on Church Circle in Annapolis! The company- Weitzman Advertising Agency- seems like they'd be really fun to work with, and I'm impressed with their approach to advertising. They want a marketing/advertising/communications major, but the alum who told the Career Services Office about the internship said that the St. John's program would be an easy sell, and after looking at their website and what they say they want in an intern, I can believe it. So I'll give it a shot. It really looks like it'd have everything I need and want for the summer: an opportunity to learn about and practice ethical & passionate advertising, the chance to hang out with creative people & do interesting things, and the income I'd need to live in Annapolis for four months. Plus the timing is such that it doesn't start until after dorm-cleaning! I am a little unsure of how the last two weeks would work out, though, given that I move back on campus August 24th and the first class of my senior year will start on the evening of the 26th, leaving me with seven days where I would have both classes and the internship going on. :/

Oh well, I have to send them my cover letter and resume before I start worrying about that sort of thing. This is too perfect to give up on without a fight.

fail, life, internship, job
