Charmaine's birthday party was awesome!
I arrived around 9:30ish and stayed till 12, and had a blast the whole time. It was mostly juniors, and a lot of them were people that I vaguely knew or only knew from class, and there was plenty of time and room to talk to them, so I did. I'd really wanted a chance to hang out with more of my class socially, but didn't fancy just sitting down at someone's lunch table or something because that might be awkward, so this was a perfect opportunity to do a little mixing. :D I discovered that I have similar musical taste to Miss Cordero, had a discussion about math class with Miss Cordero, Mr. Olson, and Mr. Merton, and then Anna Perry and I swapped first beer stories/alcohol-related father-daughter bonding moments (mine were from the rock-climbing trip we took to Mexico).
I also danced a lot, because Miss Cordero had set up the playlist for the party and it was all fun dance music. Apparently she had slated it to be the Jurassic Park playlist, which would have been *awesome*, but someone else had told her they were going to use hers and then just put in their own playlist at the actual Jurassic Park party. So that kind of sucked for the Jurassic Park party, but I'm glad I could hear the songs at a house party, because I kind of prefer dancing at those anyway.
I left around 12 because it started getting loud and also this middle-aged couple gate-crashed the party. They weren't terribly creepy or anything, it just changed the dynamic slightly from what it was, which was a Johnnies-and-friends-of-Johnnies party. I felt a bit uncomfortable with the shift, plus like I said it was getting loud, and I also have a lot to do this weekend, so I left. But otherwise it was a lot of fun and I thanked Charmaine profusely for inviting me.
The party was a bit of a bright spot in an otherwise rather stressful week, although I did also enjoy having Kristin come over and do decoupagy things. I have 3 papers to write before break- I guess there's always dead week, but I don't know exactly if I'll have dead week to write them. Does "by the end of the semester" mean "by the end of classes" (which would be Monday the 14th if I were to hand them in in class and the 15th if they just want them by the last day of classes) or "by December 17th"? Eeurgh. I was kind of counting on "by December 17th", but I have my don rag then so I suspect my tutors will want the papers before then.
*panic panic panic*
I guess I'm working on my math paper tomorrow, since it's due on the 10th. I also have my usual weekend load of two days of math homework, some french, my precept reading, and my lab homework. I've made a bit of a dent in the last, but that list looks pretty daunting.
Shoot, there's also the agora tomorrow, which I want to shop at for a bit, and TWO parties, both of which I want to go to, tomorrow night. I'll just have to be really productive Saturday morning/afternoon/early evening and all of Sunday, I guess?
