Blaaaah.
I should probably write something here.
I'm back home. I desperately need to unpack, and will probably be doing that tomorrow in between bouts of mowing the backyard (the grass is 8 inches high, full of that annoying rye grass stuff with the thick round stalks and the feathery tops) with a manual push mower. I did the front and side yard today, and it was rather disheartening. It takes 7 runs back and forth with the mower to get one row of grass to look cut, and the blades keep getting duller.
But I got to try riding my bike around the neighborhood, and it was a thing of beauty and a joy forever to get to Weis that quickly. I can't carry that many groceries, of course, because my hands aren't free, but it was still pretty sweet.
I was gone for the weekend because of my grandfather's 60th Princeton reunion. It was sort of a nightmare of a trip re: organization, because the entire family takes an hour to decide things whenever they're all together, but Princeton is pretty, I did get to see most of my maternal relatives, we had some good food and I got to see Flatland: The Musical.
Flatland: The Musical was an entirely student-run production, with a 5-person cast (they doubled up on roles a bit). They added more characterization and emphasized the realization and conflict-with-authority parts of the story, and downplayed the math a little bit and cut most of the Victorian social commentary, except for the part about the hierarchy. The best songs, I thought, were the funny self-centered ones sung by the Line King (of the 1st dimension) and the Point (no dimension), but it was ultimately a tragedy and they had a nice little song called "Time" at the end, which I thought was rather appropriate. I'm really glad I got to see it, even though no one else in my family wanted to come. :/
Oh, and I do have the Arts & Crafts Director job again, as far as I know. At least, I'm working at Brainerd again, and I'm in one of the positions that isn't Cabin Leader. That's all I've been able to glean from the e-mails. :P
