I should really be getting to sleep, but I had another great time after seminar today that was sort of what I expected college would be like all the time. :) After seminar I found some cardboard boxes for my mean sun halloween costume, then grabbed my duct tape and scissors and set out to work on the costume in the Gilliam common room on my end of the hall. Daniel showed up at this point and we ended up talking for almost two hours. It was fun- I didn't even notice it was midnight until he pointed it out. He opened up to me a little bit, too. He wouldn't give me any details about what's been depressing him, but I figure as long as he knows I'll make time to listen to him if he needs to talk, we're doing ok. And it's really not awkward to hang out with him like it was last year, I guess since we both realize it could be awkward and just choose to acknowledge that and move on. Plus the biggest source of awkward is a non-issue now? Maybe? From the way he's been talking? Eh.

But around midnight I packed up what I'd worked on and got a text from Kristin, who was wondering where everyone was. Daniel and I walked up to Paca, aquired Kristin, and went downstairs to hang out in the Paca common room. Kristin and I were dancing around to Simon and Garfunkel when Josh walked in, and after some banter and an impromptu exercise of my sad-puppy-dog-face skills (Josh and Scott critiqued it; I tried to make my eyes bigger, like Scott suggested, but burst out laughing as I couldn't do it without feeling like a loon) Josh was convinced to study his Copernicus in the Paca common room with the rest of us. Daniel left (probably around 1:20) and then Josh followed. Having finished my work, I also bid Kristin farewell and went to go type up this entry.

I need more evenings like this one. It was so spontaneous and genuinely fun!
