I should probably continue to write in this, yes?
My last day on campus was spent moving everything down to the Randall foyer, moving everything down to the car (in the rain, of course, because I moved in when it was raining, too) and hanging out with Alex. My mom said we could leave when his dad came to pick him up, so we killed the extra time by going down to the pottery studio and collecting some of my remaining pieces there, and then going up on the roof of Mellon.
Yeah, we went there.
It was totally awesome while it lasted, but as we were going back up to my former lab room to close the window we crawled out of, a security guard confronted us and we went meekly down to the assistant dean's office, where we were fined with community service hours (amount to be determined later) for next semester. *facepalm*
My parents were pretty cool about it (Dad laughed and told me about all the crazy things he used to do on the roof at grad school, which is about what I expected from him, to be honest) but obviously I'm not going to do it again, because while I think I can handle my own safety pretty well, the roofs are apparently delicate and that's one of the reasons they don't want people walking on them unless it's absolutely neccessary.
I ran into Will Knight as I was walking to the car, and he just asked me if I had gotten fined; when I ran into my R.A. (after telling her the story- unlike Mr. Knight, she hadn't seen me) she said "You aren't supposed to get caught!" and reflected that I had at least gone out with a bang.
And if that's the only school rule I break in my entire St. John's career, I think I'll have done pretty well... but I digress.
In other news, I got my ears pierced today. So far, so good- no redness, swelling, or pain as far as I can tell. I'm a bit worried about how I'm going to sleep with the earrings in, since I can't take the ones I got pierced with out for 6 weeks and I have to have some kind of post earrings in for 6 months all the time, but I guess I'll learn to deal. It'll be worth it when I can finally wear my crystal-and-gear earrings.
I also finished watching Read or Dream... I don't know what Cam was complaining about, I think the ending's fine. Also I am currently reading Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey so I can determine if I really am like Catherine Morland.
I plan to write letters tomorrow- one to my maternal grandmother, (I know she really wants letters from me, she's been wanting me to get my ears peirced for ages, and she'll no doubt want to hear about me getting a boyfriend) one to Alex (assuming I get his letter tomorrow morning), and maybe one to Katherine H--- since she provided me with questions to answer. I will also be going to Sonya's get-together for a little bit and then to an Angelique Kidjo concert with Michael, so it will be a busy day.
