Oh dear.

You know you've been thinking too much about Harry Potter when you're reading about Voltaire and find yourself wondering why Voldemort 'attacked superstition, religious fanaticism and persecution, censorship, and other abuses of eighteenth-century French society'.

Maybe I just need sleep.

Or maybe Voldemort's secret wish really is to stop the abuses of eighteenth-century French society. Who knew?

EDIT: Why not. I might as well share the "John Jacques Rousseau Song". Sing it to the tune of "John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt".

John Jaaaaaaaaaaaaacques Rousseau
Wrote about the Social Contract, yo
Whenever we go out
The people always shout
'There goes John Jacques Rousseau-
he really didn't like society did he?'

John Jaaaaaaaaaaaaacques Rousseau
Wanted to make democracy grow
Whenever we go out
The people always shout
'There goes John Jacques Rousseau-
did he really spawn totalitarianism?'

John Jaaaaaaaaaaaaacques Rousseau
He's my 18th century ho
Whenever we go out
The people always shout
'There goes John Jacques Rousseau-
hey wait a minute, didn't he die already?'

The John Jacques Rousseau Song was brought to you by Procrastination, Lack of Sleep, and the letter Y.
