ROME ART POST

About time for this too huh?

-I really love helmets, I always have. Going to Rome only made me a bigger fan of them. I did this on-site painting sketch for the sole purpose of this guys helmet. mmm~ (watercolor)

- I adored seeing all the fantastic exaggerations in musculature (much more evident in Michelangelo's pieces). Gave me a good opportunity to study anatomy because of how distinct it was. (watercolor)

-This was a broken sculpture in the forum I believe, I just remember being really tired and having to sit on a bench in the museum, and this was the view a statue I got while sitting. I wanted to capture the really nice curvature in the muscles and spine so I did a couple quick sketches of it. (marker)

-A study of Michelangel's David (torso) (marker, pen)

-WEE more helmets, I just had to draw this helmet because of the fin like structure it had. I also went ahead and stylized it a bit to be more illustrational. (color pencil, pen)

-I drew this when I was frustrated that I didn't have my own style. I still didn't prove anything after this though haha (pen)

-I have to say I am really proud of this piece, in general I just loved this sculpture in the Fontana Di Trevi a lot because it reminded me of my one character. This painting looks a lot better in person...in my opinion- (watercolor)

-Blue Badger warrior! Well that is what her crown looked like anyway- My teacher really loved this for some reason (pen and marker)

-These are my scribbles for concepting out Marcus. (Pen)

-My old old character Flick, who pretty much looks like a generic evil elf man.(pen)

-A quick gesture of a bust in the forum (pen and marker)

-Another old character based on Flick. (Zega) Also generic looking- (pen and marker)

-AHH A STILL LIFE! FFFF I hate still lifes, rather....I hate painting anything still life related without oil paints (Watercolor).

-Another Muscle guy study, (about 30 minutes painting) Watercolor

-This was one of my assignments down there were we had to reinterpret a particular painting and redo it or make it in our own style. I was heavily influenced by Carravagio's and Artemisia Gentileschi's paintings while I was coloring this. (Watercolor and some marker)

-I was greatly inspired by Hans Holbiens King Henry painting when I did this, I tried to mimic the text/eye-level thing. FYI I meant for the style to be stylized realism. (Watercolor)

-After having a discussion with Jing about Augustus and how ronery he is I went and painted this. Then she went and drew Hammer for me.

- I did this fanart after I beat Crystal Chronicles(DS). I borrowed the game from my friend/roomie. I believe the main characters Dad and Mom were my favorite characters haha- (he looks kind of souless here ahh....)
