Did the makers of Batman Begins NOT see the other Batman movies or the Batman cartoons?!?

Did the makers of Batman Begins decide to stick to their roots by using the original story line from the comic INSTEAD of the using the modified story line from the other Batman movies and cartoons?!?

I think they, unlike the other guys who made the movies, actually read the comics...You do know Batman first showed up on paper right?

I grew up poor and ugly so the rich prettyboy Bruce Wayne never appealed to me when it came time to selecting comics. And although cliché, I was more interested in characters with special powers, because THAT'S what I wanted, not to be some rich douche that fought badguys for fun because he didn't have to work for a living.

And you're right - Joey Chill killed Thomas and Martha Wayne, not Jack Napier in the comics. You get a gold star!
