I blame everything on not leaving last night until 2 AM.* Damn you, Settlers of Catan (Cities and Knights edition)!
How today was supposed to go: Up early, drop off car, do laundry and other chores at home, retrieve car, have plenty of time to be creatively productive.
How today actually went, with similarities highlighted for comparison:
- Up not quite as early as planned, but still early.
- Drop off car. Hang around reading during diagnostic. Get the news (battery's great, brakes not so much).
- Walk home, catch up on Internets, tell sister BRB.
- Walk to bank for laundry quarters.
- Get quarters, leave bank.
- Realize house keys did not come on the walk to the bank.
- Call landlady. Leave message.
- Walk to park. Finish book.**
- Go back to car place, because having the car will still enable errands to be run.
- Wait.
- Car is done, yay! Pay moola. Wait for them to take it on a test drive.
- Landlady calls back with handyman's number. Call handyman, indicating he will be there first.
- Car returns, goes back up; new part is too noisy, so they're replacing it with the old until they can get another on Monday.
- Haul ass back to apt.
- Get keys.
- Get ride back to car place.
- Car returns from second test drive.
- Retrieve car. Do laundry.
- Lose sentence structure.
* I would recommend the game, but not the starting it at 9:30 part, at least not without significant reinforcements. There was actually talk of Denny's as we neared the end, but since two-thirds of us were over 25 and therefore old enough to know we'd crash the minute we walked out the door, the idea died.
** Dammit! I didn't want to finish it this weekend because I knew the inevitable cliffhanger would just make me want the next one immediately. I was right. *flails*
ETA: Oh yes.
apocalypse_kree fics are starting to go up! Mine was supposed to be part of that creatively productive thing. I am, woefully, stalled on plot more than good old procrastination.
