We have completely crashed after spending the middle portion of the day in Santa Cruz. There was boardwalking, and caramel apple purchasing, and roller coaster riding. We learned to never ever ride the Hurricane ever again because it is an evil beast of a coaster that preys on innocent fangirls who've just come from the awesomeness of the Giant Dipper, unprepared to go reallyreally sideways and feel like they were going to be dumped out of their seats onto the ground below. Look, it was scary, all right? We did the other one a second time to make up for it.
Once I get settled, I'm going to have to see how much touristing I can drag the sister in Davis around for; she's got a friend visiting this weekend and might not want to travel around again so soon. I'm cool with meandering by myself, too, though, so it'll happen one way or another. It's been several years since I last visited this part of the state (on vacation, I mean), and there's a lot to rediscover.
