My BSG Season One DVDs arrived today! This would have been better had they arrived before the day before I start classes, but whatever, they are here and pretty and awfully skinny, which is a smart move, considering the audience for them is one that could use the extra space on the shelf.
I had to laugh at the back cover description, though:With the 12 colonies of man virtually destroyed in the climax of a hundred-year war with the Cylon Empire, President Roslin (Mary McDonnell) and Commander Adama (Edward James Olmos) gather up the few humans left and embark on a journey to find the mythical planet Earth, not realizing that the Cylon robot is no longer a recognizable enemy.
CYLON EMPIRE. *dies* And, uh, hundred year war?
But it has my pretties, and extras, and even the bad promo shots, so I care not! I got my dad hooked on the show, too - he watched last week's ep and was all excited about it on the phone. Hee.
Also, reason number eleventy-one that I love the BSG fandom:
I lost count of the number of people who independently came up with the "Starbuck and Apollo IMing each other, hee!" interpretation of their inter-ship communications system. *pets*
