Out of whack

This week is off to a raging start, and the thing that is raging is my back. What was just a slight twinge for the last few days turned into OMGWTFPAIN last night within my last hour of wakefulness. I think the earlier pain was that stupid rib sliding out of place again, and my poking at it during the Emmys triggered the muscles into spasm/full rib displacement. Yes, it hurts as much as it sounds like it does. Lying down is actually worse; I couldn't sleep without medication last night, and even then only by finding just the right high-support, semi-rotated position. I was able to get in a quick massage session this afternoon to go after the muscles, and thankfully the chiro had a spot come open tomorrow, so I will get fixed.

I was super slug this weekend, too. I've been mainlining Happy Endings, which was amusing enough in season one and quite delightful in season two. I've liked Eliza Coupe since she was on Scrubs, but the whole ensemble is great. It's a good thing I got through most of it since the shows are starting to come back. Aside from Mindy Kaling's show, I don't have my eye on anything particular that's new, so I will trust the flist to point me in the right direction.

Books-wise, I finished Libba Bray's Gemma Doyle trilogy and enjoyed it very much, but I have series fatigue. I'm going to read a few standalones next.
