Doggie Photo Dump (and Video!)

Currently Reading: Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness
Currently Watching: Game of Thrones: Season 2

Yes, I'm back to slogging through this god-awful book. As someone online aptly observed, this thing is like a pinata. There are so many bad things to say about it that one wants to just keep bashing it over and over again. I find this "heroine" (whose name I seriously can't even be bothered to remember when I'm not actually reading) to be even more personally offensive than Bella Swan. Bella was a useless klutz from the get go. This woman-child was a tenured Yale and Oxford Professor at 35! And wrote lots of books! And was a star athelete! And was super pretty! And had eyes that are are like five different colors. And hair too! And she's a super-duper powerful witch! Etc, etc. And yet she allows herself to be treated like a naughty lap dog by her one true love. Barf.

Anyways, I finally uploaded some pictures of Jaynie! Pictures and a video of her playing with Sophie. They've been way too long coming, but I knew it would be precisely as hard to get them posted as it was. Everything I sit down to do anymore takes about three times longer than I really feel it should - if I get results at all. In this case, my computer wouldn't read my memory card at all, my cobbled together Photoshop CS 6 trial is shaky at best and hard to use to boot (hate the new white on black motif), and most of the pictures are blurry. *sigh* Nevertheless, I persevered and have some cute images to share!

And while I was hunting through all the pictures on the camera I found one of me with my baybees that I didn't even realize had been taken. I don't normally post pictures of myself, but since I was, I believe, asleep I look pretty normal instead of fat and derpy. The image just makes me smile.

Jaynie is very slowly starting to do better. We had to take her back to the vet after she spent a night chewing a hole in her leg and while that was quite stressful, it helped us discover what was causing a lot of her problems. She has a flea allergy! Ergo, even one flea on her makes her act absolutely insane and one bite means she will rip her own flesh off. Yikes! However, now that we have the meds to keep that under control, she's 100% calmer. I feel a bit bad for thinking she was a crazy freak before. Now she's only a crazy freak when she sees a strange dog, but we're even learning to manage that by just picking her up as we pass them by. I'd like to be able to train her out of this fear eventually, but we have to get her over all of her other I-Was-Abandoned issues first. We had to take her out of her obedience class and move her into another one already since there was another leash-reactive dog in her first class and the pair of them made it impossible for anyone to learn anything. She is getting along great with Syd... and if Smooshie-Mooshie would make even a little bit of effort, she would get along just fine with her as well. And she continues to be so, so sweet, Sophie loves her, and she listens extremely well. She's scared of the woods (we basically live in the woods, so she's kinda gonna have to put on her big girl panties and deal with it), and pulls away from them with such fervor that she has slipped her collar twice on me, but both times she's come right back when I called her. Her fur is starting to grow out long and I suspect she's going to undergo quite a Syd-like transformation in appearance the next few months.

I'm using my last few days of Vacation for the year and I do believe I'm going to spend tomorrow vegging out. Unless I go somewhere, I have a tendency to waste away my vacation days frantically trying to get things on my to-do list done and running into all the road blocks that caused them to be tabled in the first place. I deserve a day where I just sit and play video games without feeling guilty about it.

Tony Stark: Yeah, takes us a while to get any traction, I'll give you that one. But let's do a head count here: your brother the demi-god; a super soldier, a living legend who kind of lives up to the legend; a man with breath-taking anger management issues; a couple of master assassins, and YOU, big fella, you've managed to piss off every single one of them.
Loki: That was the plan.
Tony Stark: Not a great plan. When they come, and they WILL, they'll come for you.
