Okay, my right foot is still retaining enough water that it is a few millimeters thicker than the left foot. This means I still can't get into 95% of my shoes. Any home remedies (or OTC meds) to drop this last smidge of water weight? It's driving me batty though at least the weather is such that I don't mind wearing sandals or the *sigh* crocs all ( Read more... )

  • We got on the Buffy/Angel train and are to Angel season 4
  • Arrested Development made it into our 'bought it' column and is just darn funny
  • House is good, but might be too thinky
  • Blue's Clues would prep you for later, and the 1st 2 seasons are on Netflix Instant (I like Steve better than Joe, but I am less wierded out by Joe now that I have seen him in more than the 'I drank the Steeler offensive line under the table last night and I still had to make this darn kids show' episode)
  • Fraggle Rock

Oh man, I forgot we own Arrested Development. I will rewatch that after we move since all of our dvds are packed.

I don't know why I've always been hesitant to jump on the Whedon train, but maybe now is a good time to start since that would take awhile whereas we sometimes run through an entire series in a few days.

Do I need to watch House from the start for it to make sense? I have a couple of seasons from my mom, but I think it's 2 & 3.

No. The story arcs cover multiple episodes, but each "medical mystery" is self-contained, and very little story development was done in season one anyway.

I was gonna say, Buffy. Just be aware it doesn't get consistently Great until Season 3.

Angel I think is a markedly inferior show which doesn't even get interesting until its Season 3 (which is Buffy Season 6) though you totally don't have to go back and forth.

If you haven't seen any Whedon at all, do Firefly -> Serenity first. It's way more polished, and it'll only take about 18 hours.

I also loved Battlestar Galactica, The Wire... oh and IN TREATMENT!!!! Amazing. Half hour but uh super thinky. Season 2 not out on DVD yet but I can make you a copy of torrented stuffs.

Undeclared
Weeds, only seen 2 seasons but seems amusing

If you decide to do the Buffy, I'd watch it in tandem with Angel. We just finished Buffy and are on the 2nd season of Angel, which is confusing. I'm with the person that suggested Firefly/Serenity for your first dose of Whedon. I'd much rather be in outerspace than in high school.
