The food today was wonderful. We went to Traci's as planned, and ate until I thought I'd bust. She made turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, candied yams, corn pudding, Watergate Salad (almost an ambrosia-type thing), cranberry-mandarin sauce, green chili with chicken, and wheat bread. I brought over some gluten-free green bean casserole and some glazed baby carrots. Yesterday, she and I made two pumpkin pies and a Dutch apple pie (and I made a pecan pie while she was outside) at her house....then I went home and made a 3-layer lemon chiffon pie with a gluten-free crust before I went to work.
She went through a lot of trouble to make as much of the food as she could edible to me. And I ate it...lots and lots of it. I'm still full.
After dinner, we sat around the table enjoying coffee and pie and conversation. Then we played that game "Scene It" until I had to leave for work. LD and I were cuddled up on the sofa together. There's no place I'd rather be than in his arms. Seriously.
We took Layla with us so she could play with her brothers. She was a sleepy little pug by the time we left.
I like this kind of day. Nothing too strenuous. Nothing too pressing. Just good food and good people. Just a good day.
