I can't believe I had this conversation last night. It's so quintessentially . . .me. . .
Kat and I were discussing many things, and the topic of how her mother hadn't called her back came up, and somehow this ended up in a discussion about selling one's soul (in terms of taking out loans from a bank). . .
ME: [*polishes nails on shirt, inspects them with a grin*] You know, you could always. . . refinance. . .
KAT: Can't sell what SomeOne Else already owns.
ME: [*lifts eyebrow*] . . . Sssso you double-book. . . [ Thinking in terms of a second morgage]
KAT: Wouldn't the first loan take precedance?
ME: Of course it would. In fact, the second could be considered . . . under duress? Perhaps?
KAT: [*gives a very level look*]
ME: What, not interested in trying to cheat the Devil? Your loss . . .[*chuckles*]
I think I maybe shouldn't be studying for a degree in business-- I'm already trying to convince my friends to take out "second morgages" on their souls. . .[*snickers*]
In other horrific news. . . I wrote a good chuck of my 15 page paper due at the end of this week. I saved it, like a good girl. Now, however, I can't access it. It's there, it just screws everything up when I try to open it. The IT guy is coming by soon to see what he can do-- I do not relish the prospect of re-typing everything I've already done. . .
