What did I do? Well, got up at quarter to five, went to work, with two meetings and, since it's Asian Pacific American Hertiage Month, an hour long martial arts demo in the auditorium. That's right folks, your tax payer money pays me to see people breaking wood boards and cinderblocks for fun. All in the name of "diversity". . .
Stayed late so I could study-- I did my accounting final Monday, but the accursed Stat. was due today. So I studied until about 1800 (at work, I'd now been there about 11.5 hours, and had been since 1500) and then went straight to Olney to see about a town house. No luck, went to see another, then came home about 8pm-ish to take the exam (online course), only to find that none of the computers in the house could access the page with the exam. So, I warmed up some chicken soup and opened some boxes that had come in the mail but had suspected were for the 9th.
Theo-- the Bizet is playing right now. Since when did you become such an opera fiend? Between this, Dido et Aneas, and Mma Butterfly . . .^_^. I actually didn't have any Bizet in my collection before Les Pecheurs, so it is a welcome addition. Love the Romantic Era Composers. So much damn drama in everything they do! And all heroines die of consumption! Well, not Aida. . . well, asphyxiation of some sort. . .
MMaggie-- She's lovely. I'm keeping her safe in the box for now until I move and have someplace to put her where the morning sun will hit her. Her face reminds me of some of my favorite carved Madonnas--that distant, serene yet heavy-with-thought expression. Beautiful. Not to mention some interesting symbolism incorporated if you know how to look at it--which, dear, I know you do. ~_^!
