Happy 20th Birthday, Mystery Science Theater 3000.
According to the fine folks at Satellite News (http://www.mst3kinfo.com/), today is the 20th anniversary of the initial showing of MST3K in KTMA in Minneapolis. In their words:
"EPISODES PREMIERE
1988: MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 premieres on television on Minneapolis station KTMA with a double feature: K01- INVADERS FROM THE DEEP and K02- REVENGE OF THE MYSTERONS. JOEL HODGSON, TRACE BEAULIEU and JOSH WEINSTEIN make their on-screen debut. "
In related news, the Music Box Theater is showing the MST3K: The Movie (This Island Earth) in a midnight showing this weekend. Any takers?
