Back To The 'ol Grind
Well, I said previously that I'd update my LiveJournal when I found a new job, so here I am again. I started this past Monday for my new firm (and procrastinated updating LJ since several days before that).
The new job is basically a blend of the types of work I did at my previous two companies, namely transportation and land development (so I now no longer work exclusively for movie villians--although they're certainly in the client base :) ) . It's a small company started by people from my first job out of school who themselves lost their jobs when that company's American offices were largely closed down. It's kind of nice 'cause I was able to find it so quickly since I had so many contacts here and I was also able to jump right into doing things without any awkward orientation procedures since almost everyone knew me from before and had worked at least 18 months with me at the previous employer. I'm no longer in downtown Chicago, although the suburb I'm working in now is on my same train line so my commute is almost exactly the same except I head west instead of east.
All in all, I can't complain. So that's my excitement...which is rather unexciting so things must be going well :)
