it's been a while.
yeah. life is... well, it's life.
the fella has some medical issues. Like. Yeah.
We thought he sprained his knee in the spring when he held a door open for folks in wheelchairs with his leg and heard a 'pop'.
Fats forward to October, when we went down to Williamsburg. Busch Gardens finished him - crutches most of the time since then. Went and got an MRI two weeks ago. That cleared the torn meniscus I suspected, but found something else.
Turns out that at some point in the past he got a hairline fracture in the top of his right tibia. Instead of growing bone to heal himself, my freak grew a giant cell tumor, which has the consistency of cartilage. And then in Williamsburg he managed to Fracture his TUMOR. And it was so long go that it's replaced a portion of bone that's 2" by 1 1/2" by 3/4". The top of his tibia (the part that supports his knee) is all tumor.
Yeah. If he didn't have bad luck...
Consult with the oncological orthopedist because of the need for a bone graft is on the 30th.
On happier notes - I'm set for Salt Lake City, Baltimore, Nashville, and Philly. Still pondering picking up New Jersey. Me? A crazy U2 fan? Never. ;-)
