Chestnuts roasting on an open fire

The holidays are upon us, Christmas is only one week away, and gee, I just feel possessed by the holiday spirit--traditions, family, and egg nog have been really helping me become excited to share this wonderful time of year with you all. Though we are not all 'technically' family, we are related in spirit. Together we can make the most of this holiday season; really show Pop that we can come together and be merry. After all, the quickest way to defeat a bully is to rise above his level of thought and compassion. Rejoice in all that we have, all that we should be thankful for, and do not fall into despair, my neighbors!

I will stop myself from going on and on anymore, because I wanted to keep this brief. I only have one other thing to say to you all and I promise to leave you alone. This Sunday, I'd like it if we could all gather around my fireplace to, drink eggnog, and eat pecan pie, while I recite The Night Before Christmas for you everyone. It's a timeless holiday classic. How does 6 pm sound to everyone?

Persephone, you have been upset with me for far too long. Now, I know I don't always seem like the nicest guy, or best father, but golly, kiddo, your old man loves you. I do with all of my heart. I've been letting work rule my life, neglecting you, and boy, I never wanted that to happen, princess. I want to make it up to you, in the best way I can figure out. You and I need to spend more time together, and tonight would be a terrific time to start. There is a father-daughter Christmas ball down in the Salvation Army building, and I'd like it if you would let me take you to this dance, Persephone. Heck, I'll even take you out to buy a new dress. I want to be the dad you deserve, princess.
