The questions you asked, in my opinion, are subjective to the individual events at hand.
IN MY OPINION~
A lie, or a lie by omission, are never good.
BUT if a lie is told, or an omission made, is for the sake of a TRULY greater good, it is acceptable.
If a truth is tld to simply unburden the teller of the truth, when the knowledge will damage the recipiant of the knowledge... has that been for the better?
Likewise, a choice to continue interaction with the liar or omitter, depends on the grater result of that choice.
Is the lie or omission an insurmountable odd in your life? A deal breaker denoting a moral difference or character flaw you cannot choose to live with? or meerly a speed bump?
Perhaps a break from the person to decide is valid.
Me~ I always believe that a freind should be kept close... and an enemy should be watched/kept closer.
Of course, a disease encrusted vermin is better avoided.
Hope I helped at the very least a little bit by saying absolutely nothing.
(If you just want a cheer up, visit my MySpace and see the video I posted. Its a space youd feel very at home in... are at the very least, blend in.)
