I am feeling a bit short on books--ZD has basically refused to give me any books, after months of asking--so I went down to the library sale today.
The library sales here are huge. Our local library is part of a county library system, and the sale has donations from all of Jefferson County. They have too many books to actually do the sale at the library, so they do it in the exhibit hall at the fairgrounds. The hall is packed full of books, but they still have to put the kids' books downstairs in the basement rooms!
I try to avoid shopping on Sunday, but I may go back tomorrow for the $5/bag sale...
I ended up getting 2 boxes full of books for $60. One of the boxes was kids' stuff: Narnia (couldn't find all 7 though), Lloyd Alexander, Tamora Pierce, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Susan Cooper...I also got a box of non-kids' books, mostly how-to books (home decorating, carpentry, Reader's Digest Fix It Manual), but also a few mysteries. All in all a good haul. Now I just need to use the lumber I got (free) on Craigslist to make another bookshelf...
