I really ought to post.

The problem is that, for the most part, my life is relatively boring. I'm working a lot but most of this is touch-up work--cleaning the grout haze off the tiles now that the grout has cured, painting trim, etc.

Thanks to the miracle of Public Storage, there is now lots of room in the living room (our former box staging area). According to my spreadsheet, we now have 2,314 pounds (about 200 cu. ft. of stuff) up there right now. Yes, we are weighing and measuring everything--Zoodada's, er, meticulousness demands it.

Yesterday our soon-to-be-bishop's son, who happens to be a realtor, inspected a townhouse that we were interested in. It was dated (dark carpet, old refrigerator, "interesting" wallpaper in the bathroom), but we can live with that. Other than that, it's:
  • huge (bedrooms about the same size as current bedrooms but with waaaay more closet space--his & hers walk-in closets in the master!, kitchen smaller than ours but living room is large and family room is downright enormous, large unfinished basement space for storage about the size of our garage)
  • in a great neighborhood--1/2 mile from the best elementary school in Golden
  • in an incredibly good location in the complex (end unit, front door faces the green space between the back of the complex and the fence--e.g. we would have a 50' wide front yard, etc.)
  • less expensive than many rentals on the market, unless you include the area that is too gross to live in

It seemed like a good deal so we put an application in right away. Sadly there were others viewing the townhouse at the same time, so we may have competition. It will be several days before we know whether we get it. In the mean time, do we keep checking out rentals? I'm not sure how this process works, as I haven't been a renter for years.
