I've been corresponding with a conference organizer in Virginia about speaking at their May conference. No official word back, but she just emailed me & asked about a question about workshop scheduling. Her message started by saying, "We have been plugging your workshops into our proposed schedule..." That sounds really, really hopeful. :-)
The good news is that I am really happy to have an out-of-California conference on my schedule again. (It may be counting my chickens before they hatch, but I really really am thinking this is going to work out.)
The bad news is that I can't really put it on my "speaking resume" without shooting myself in the foot--it's an LDS conference (for LDS homeschoolers all over the East Coast), and I seriously doubt that the big "Christian" homeschool organizations would EVER take me as a speaker if I advertised that I was LDS. (Or even catered to the LDS crowd, for that matter.) *sigh*
Nonetheless, it will be good to meet a large crowd of LDS homeschoolers. I've never been to an LDS conference before, so this will be cool.
