Yes, my friend, Caroline, and I are going to Russia!! It's been a long long process, but we have finally planned-out everything. We just have to obtain our Russian visas. To date, we each have spent nearly $2,800 in trip-related expenses. But that number is sure to increase since we still have to pay for our visas, allocate spending money, and what-not. Eeeeeeekkkk!!
In less than 3 WEEKS, we'll be in Russia!! We both are very excited. Here is some extra info: We'll be flying from Detroit to New York, where we'll be getting on our Russian Airline, Aeroflot, which will take us to Moscow. There, we'll be staying at the Ukraina (see pictures below), a hotel in the City, for a few days. We will be part of a tour group there visiting cool places like: the Kremlin, Pushkin Fine Arts Museum, etc.
After our multi-day tour in Moscow, we go back to the airport and fly to Novosibirsk, Siberia, Russia (several hours away). There, we'll be staying at a Summer Camp (not too far from Novosibirsk) for 4 weeks. Besides doing camp-related activities, we are going to be teaching the Russian teens English and related subject areas for a couple hours a day. In return, we receive Russian language courses.
Again, we're really excited!! We have been for weeks now. I just can't write how excited we are!! Look for future updates nearing our departure.
