First up: YEAY!
So, pretty much my last thought going in was "If only they'd go Biblical and make it that the angels wanted the Apocalypse". WIN \0/ To be fair, that wasn't a huge surprise at this point, except that the whole angel storyline took a turn not for my liking a while back (although the last couple of episodes had been looking up), so I was bracing myself for disappointment. So, I gleed at that happening :D
First reactions... I'm pretty goddamn pleased, at the moment. It's joy to see our boys back together (CLINGING to each other, omg - our hiatus is pretty beautifully set up for Wincest and general Sam'n'Dean goodness). I was thrilled to see Dean come through with the goods. Not so thrilled to see Sam take that path that he did, but within the context of the show I was pleased (just obviously I like our boys to have puppies and rainbows and no torturing girls to death). Much as it was a bit anvillicious (well, there were many, many anvillicious moments, but that's our show), I loved Ruby's whole speech about Sam's choices, as the addiction / poison theme wasn't really doing it for me.
I did feel like the show's gender issues were showing again somewhat, which was unfortunate. But I need to think about that more - maybe I'll do another post, if RL doesn't eat me as is its wont.
I am pleased! But also weirdly lacking in reaction at present. I think I steeled myself so much for this ep that I'm still kind of numb. I'm looking forward to reading all the reaction posts (haven't touched LJ since the ep aired) - usually that's the point at which my glee gets to work :D
I'm totally yeay for the hiatus, though, and for next season! So many possibilities! And I was a Buffy fan, so being left teetering on the brink of a Hellmouth does not bother me unduly, hahaha.
I love our show, guys :D
