[...]perhaps it's because a lot of what we're seeing is Echo's story told as a reflection of her in those around her?
The thing is, I think that is a fantastic way to tell a story, and that was what I was enjoying the most about Dollhouse. Even though it wasn't coming across as well as it could have done, I was okay with that slow, fragmented feeling. Suddenly getting Caroline's story in a big chunk, and though her eyes, was a lot less interesting to me than the way he had been playing it before. But literally everyone else on my flist (and the TV critics) have rated episode 7 higher than every other ep, so clearly I am just weird.
I still have faith also, though, because I've seen Joss pull some awesome shit. And there is a good chance I will look back at these early eps and by really impressed by what he set up (assuming it survives). I will definitely keep watching, anyway!
Boys back together again makes me soooo happy. And the episode codas have been JOY :D
