I was going to save this and then do a bunch of recs, but I am super-disorganised and will probably never get around to it, so I'm doing it now. Also, recs from me are usually fairly pointless, because I always seem to be the last one in the fandom to find any given fic, but this doesn't seem to have gotten much attention so far, so I thought I'd give it a little shout-out.

Written for
spn_outsidepov, to the prompt Sam and Dean have done research in countless libraries by now - what do all those librarians think of the boys and what they're researching?. Of course, anyone who knows me will know this is a concept which appeals to me, since I am a totaly library geek (in fact, I nearly picked up this prompt myself). Lots of the things I liked about it are things which appealed to my geekdom, as there are loads of little library procedural things worked in. But what makes it a great fic is the way that all these things are used to reveal more and more about the Winchesters and the case they're working. It starts out seeming like quite a mundane little diary of a day and draws you in more and more, and the end part surprised and pleased me. Outside POV fics are tricky, because of the demands of working with an original character, but this one worked well.
In other recc-y type news, go check out the
remix_redux fics (browsable by the
tags page) if you haven't already. There are loads of great fics there from all sorts of fandoms, and as well as enjoying the remixes I've been reading the original fics, and finding loads of gems I missed in the process. Remix authors are anonymous until Sunday, and it's quite fun reading without knowing who wrote, so go and frolic before the reveal. I did a remix pinch hit this yeat, which was fun, if quite scary, so after the reveal I may ramble a bit about that. Or not, depending on my state of organisation. Anyway, yes, lots of good stuff there to enjoy. And offer up thanks to
musesfool and her
team of lovely helpers, who performed the mammoth task of organising this!
Right, now I had better go and get on with my
spn_j2_bigbang writing with
parenthetical, as the deadline is drawing ever closer!
