Oh hai thar, wonderful flist.
I'm using a Mac these days (because when you're in the final throes of writing a thesis, then of course that's when your computer melts and dies). And I need to know: is there any way of having Word display so it fills up the whole screen? By which I mean, on a PC, the actual application opens up as something which fills the whole screen, and the documents underneath are seamlessly joined on. Whereas on the Mac, the application part and the documents are visually separate entities, and the toolbars are kind of floating over the actual desktop. Which means that if a toolbar doesn't happen to stretch across the whole screen, I can see crap underneath it. DRIVING ME MAD.
This is an incredibly unfashionable thing to say, but what I basically want is for my Mac to behave more like a PC. Can anyone tell me how to make Word on the Mac less annoying?
phd,
