It finally happened
Just when I'd given up hope...I made the equivalent of a hail mary throw, and it somehow connected. What I've been striving to do, for years, has happened.
I'm certainly happy, but not jubilant. That jubilance has been eaten away by the many failures and difficulties and stress and worry that have preceded this day, and I feel like a coyote who's been in a dogfight, took a number of hits and gouges and scratches, and managed to finally get in a lucky shot. I won the battle, but it took a lot out of me...
The bad news: this means the beginning of the end for this journal. For a number of reasons, I will no longer be able to continue to post here (yeah, I know, because I've been doing so much of that the past few months!). Those of you who know me outside of EllJay, I certainly intend to keep in touch--just not on here, and probably not as frequently.
I'm still kind of in shock too, I guess. Went out for drinks with a friend earlier, but now I mostly want to relax tonight and take it easy, as there'll be a distinct shortage of that sort of thing in the near future. And starting tomorrow, I'll have classes to worry about as well. Life, as always, goes on...
