So...fun times as classes are once again beginning. We apparently have new neighbors downstairs who just moved in four days ago, and they've wasted no time in making a great impression. Last night, it started off with merely some music being played too loud around 10 PM. My roommate (who was trying to study) decided to simply leave a note on their door respectfully asking them if they could turn their music down, as it was clearly audible and our floors were vibrating. The music seemed to eventually die down, but around midnight we heard our doorbell being rung several times. We thought it best not to answer. Then, around 2 AM, we suddenly heard the sound of someone fucking body-slamming into our door, followed by a girl laughing. Pissed off, we decided to make a few calls in the morning.
I missed this next part, doing my lab monkey thing on campus, but I returned to find our doorbell destroyed. Roommate had called the police, who came out and had a little chat with the dumbshits downstairs (one was apparently still drunk). Before this, she'd seen a few of them outside, who started yelling to her "do you have any questions, do you have any questions?". She ignored them and walked inside, whereafter they began pounding on the door (since we no longer have a doorbell) and kept along in a similar line. Oh, and the best part? They left a note asking us "to handle this in a more mature manner"!
I honestly don't care what someone does in the privacy of their own home/apartment unit/whatever, until it becomes a disruption to those around them. The morons downstairs need to learn that where they're living isn't a dorm or frat, and they need to act like big boys now. I'll freely admit that I got shitfaced on any number of occasions in college, but don't ever recall being excessively disruptive or destroying property or the like. If someone can't handle their alcohol, they shouldn't be drinking.
We'll see if these clownboats decide to grow the fuck up, or if they keep up their shenanigans until they get kicked out of the complex here...
