I really don't feel like sharing but I'm blowing the dust off this thing with a little free-writing.
I'm still living at home.
Therapy is going well. Meds are still being adjusted. Feel like I'm sliding backwards in that department. So fucking frustrating.
My biggest news is my food allergy situation. After a couple more bouts of anaphylaxis finally pushed me into seeking a major specialist. Looked into Mayo; so damn expensive. Went to sinus center here and was told that they could not help me. Fortunately they directed me to
Allergy Associates of LaCrosse in LaCrosse, WI. Turns out that this center is globally acclaimed and much, much less than Mayo. Went through more testing. I'm pasting my experience that I typed up elsewhere:
"I started daily allergy desensitization drops - small drops of liquid I put under my tongue three times each day. They are used in place of allergy shots and are apparently more effective than shots. Good thing, too: I've gone through 2.5 2-5 year series of shots and have had no positive results from them. I had blood taken for food allergy tests (and subdermal tests for some environmental allergens that I shared with you guys) and was told that I'd get a new diet at the next appointment. My results were mailed to me.
Today - three weeks later - Doc discussed the details of a rotation diet with me and my mom. A rotation diet involves lists of food that you eat on specific days. The idea is that a person will have so much variety that a body doesn't have time to react to anything. There are many more details about this system that we talked about but this bit will suffice for this note.
Based on the results I got in the mail I thought that maybe - maybe - I could try soy and egg again. EXCITE. I had my fingers crossed, but I worried as well. What if he decided to hold off on a diet given the extent of my allergies? What if I heard wrong and wasn't actually going to get a diet at all?
Doc talked me through how he used my test results to add foods in. At first he told me that he was going to have me eat lamb, turkey, pork... and egg and soy.
...so I started to tear up. Lame, I know.
Then he told me that his nurse would discuss the rotation diet with me. I wanted to give him a big hug but settled for a very warm handshake.
The nurse sat down with us and pulled out a thick packet of paper. She showed me four lists of foods and started talking about which days I could eat from each list.
...but I had to stop her. These were long lists with LOTS of foods. Could I eat anything I liked on these lists?
Yes, I could.
...then I did start to cry. Lamer, I know.
It turns out that I'm allergic to the yeast that grows in everyone's intestines. Doc started me on an anti-yeast med and a probiotic. I have to take these for a week before starting my new diet. No problem.
I've attached a pic of my list below. This was arranged specifically for ME and my needs. I start at Day 1 and then continue in numerical order, starting over at 1 after Day 4.
Look at all of those foods.
Huge Damn Picture GAZE UPON THEM.
I was completely blown away and in a bit of a numb shock for a few hours after the appointment. I couldn't even begin to say anything beyond "Oh my God" until after a nap in the van on the way back home. I just can't believe it. I went in hoping for two more foods and came out with a feast.
Expect pictures of future meals.
Oh, look under Day 3 for a moment. Goat milk and goat cheese.
Goat MILK and goat CHEESE.
MILKANDCHEESEOMG"
Life-changing. I've also gained a lot of weight due to meds and new diet. Back up to 200 lbs. Current goal: 160.
I'm doing these damn things again:

That's all.
