In hopes the day gets shorter as it goes on.
I am having a rough time of it right now and am posting to have some contact with something.
Forgive the disjointedness; I just woke up and the massive headache I had is only starting to subside.
Um... rough day at work yesterday. Didn't get lunch until pretty late due to stupid managerial staff; thank God my team leads have my back. I have theirs, too. They understand that I cannot take a lunch and teach a training class at the same time. All the same I only got a 25 minute lunch during an 8 hour shift - but fuck 'em. They can deal with that drama.
Class went well. The store, however, was SWAMPED. I had 6-7 people in line most of the day and some difficult customers to boot. The store was trashed. I hung out in aquatics for a chunk of the day, too - which usually makes me happy, but yesterday I had to deal with the "I-just-got-a-tank-for-Christmas-can-I-get-a-goldfish" crowd. I'm glad I was there to tell people that, no, you cannot put a goldfish in a 2-gallon tank (or, worse, a goddam bowl), but dealing with people who try to wheedle their way into buying the fish anyway is draining.
Cleaning up after closing the store wasn't even all that good. It was like I was on a treasure hunt for the empty packages of things that people had shoplifted that day. I found one that held a 23 dollar dog toy - I had helped out a customer with that same toy earlier that day.
Nothing quite kills the holiday spirit like shoplifters.
...but coming home, cuddling with my dog, and finding a few buds online helped me come back a bit.
Finding myself a victim of the DC hackers, however, did not. Thankfully, my dragons are all back to normal.
I've had some dreams lately. I had a long dream meeting with one of my undergrad mentors on the night of the 24th which is making me think quite a bit about my thesis situation. I will (hopefully) expound on that later. I simply haven't the energy right now. I had one last night that involved Dethklok. It was decidedly not metal.

I really want to update more later, but no promises. I work from 2:30 to 8 today.
