Lake Kowatapee
 Rating: R (can't write NC-17)
Pairings: Al/Ed/Hei
Summary: Alfonse literally stumbles across a beaten Edward. Out of the goodness of his heart he takes in the Edward, but where is the other Alphonse? Taken from the Heiderich's POV.

Sorry about the Un-beta-ness. Siv that isn't even a word. Yeah I know. Also I have to write this on very little time so that is why it is so short. Also commas confuse me.

All thoughts of breakfasts and anger  vanished as Alfonse scrambled to his knees.  Its been years since he had seen an Edward and every instinct towards one jolted awake. Leaning over the still creature Alfonse gave a tentative sniff. All he smelt were blood and exhaustion coupled with the Edward's scent.  Out of his excitement Alfonse failed to register the faint lingering scent of an Alphonse.

Before he realized that he he was doing so Alfonse got to his feet and grabbed the Edward under the arm. Pulling the limp Edward upright to lean on his shoulder Alphonse half-dragged, half-carried the other towards his home.  The journey didn't seem too long in Al's mind, due to the other things racing through his head. Like how lonely he was. All Al could remember about Edwards was the little his father-Edward told him about finding a mate and a little bit about predators. Exactly when and why he was forced to leave his family were a blank. Those days were a long and distant memory.  Luckily Al managed to open the door just as Edward gave a groan. Better stop daydreaming.

Pulling Edward over towards a semi-clean bottom bunk Al pushed the animal onto it. Once Ed was in a comfortable position Alfonse climbed to his top bunk nest to retrieve his bedding. Since he couldn't bring the Edward to the nest, might as well bring the nest to the Edward. Carefully he positioned the bedding around Ed before sitting back on his heels to admire his work. Now to look at those wounds.
--------
"Al, you go that way, I'll try to lead it away!"

"Ni-san! Don't go! Don't leave-"

"You'll be fine. I'll be back before you know it."

Those were the last things he said to Alphonse right before the Hawkeye attacked. With her long distance weapon and  older age she out matched Edward. He remembers the shooting pain of her well-known bullets sinking into his shoulder right before the noise. The noise of the "Forbidden Territory". A chill raced down his spine as he remembered the screech of the terrible creature that ruled the lake. No one ever saw the creature, but all still feared it none-the-lest.

Damn his shoulder hurt! It began hurting even worse as a tongue swiped over the wound over and over. Wait a tongue?
--------

Alfonse had nestled next to Edward as he peeled off the red outer pelt and black under pelt to get near the wound. Other than the left shoulder Edwards was unharmed. Bending his head forward Alfonse began cleaning the wound. A few licks in the Edward gave a groan as it opened its eye. Stopping his ministrations
Al looked up into Edward's breath-taking gold eyes. Edward regarded Alfonse for a second then promptly went back to sleep.

Giving a smile Alfonse managed to dig out the small metal pellet from Edward's shoulder. Pulling back on Ed's pelt Alfonse snuggled closer to his new companion.

"Don't worry I'll take care of you."  Muttered Alfonse resting his head next to Edward's the outside world forgotten.
