I've been feeling very disconnected recently. I guess just the day to day routine of taking care of Ashton, and working has really started to get to me. I haven't been able to really paint in a long, long time. I tried to do it over xmas break, and got a total of maybe 3 hours in on one painting. I don't know if it's that I don't feel inspired enough to paint, or if I truly am not finding the time to do it. I NEED to do it. I feel so much better when I do. I think, ultimately that is my new years resolution (other than moving to Georgia, of course) to paint more, and to take care of myself. I'm a much better person to be around when I do.
Ashton is trying his hardest to learn how to walk. He can take about 5 steps before he falls down. Our neighbor came over with her 11 month old son (Ashtons' bestest buddy) and commented on how 'little boy like' Ashton was becoming. Pretty soon we won't have a baby anymore - we'll have a KID! Ha, ha.
In other news, my brother seems to be back on the fence about doing a probate on my dads estate. I really hope he stays on board this time. It needs to be done. It's been almost 2 years now since my fathers death and nothing has been done. All my dads stuff remains in boxes in his house. I hope my step-mother hasn't sold any of it. She hasn't even contacted me once since my son was born. You would think if she was so in love with my dad and considered my brother and I to be like her own children, which she professed, that she would want to be in my dad's only grandchilds' life. You'd think. Anyway....
My incredibly AWFUL student teacher had his last day today - which makes me extremely happy. This guy has no passion or concept for teaching or how to teach. It was an incredibly stressful 2 months that he was working with me. I felt like I was trying to teach him how to teach, and he wasn't taking any advice. I'm sooooo glad that he's gone, I can't even express.
Wow, I just keep on writing. If I knew how to put all this behind a link I would. I did do something for fun - I took this survey posted on MohawkAdams' journal. Interestingly enough, I wasn't even considering Edwards, I was more of a Obama girl....who knew?
