New Years Day started awesome with some serious loving time in the morning with my lovely wife. Best way to start off the New Year. After morning cuddles we spent some time packing so we could head out to squacation. The idea of going off camping with friends in the woods made me very happy so all the work was effortless. We arrived at squacation around 3 which was great because we had daylight to play in out in the woods. Carlos and I went and played disc golf which was awesome. I love disc golf and I love carlos and I love the woods. its a trifecta of win! Continued finding/meeting new awesome people throughout the day. Deep fried twinkies and sausages wrapped in bacon stuffed with cheese was consumed. That made my belly happy. That night we burned the coffin effigy. Having a powerful ritual to honor and let go of the old and bring in the new is a blessing. I was so happy to be able to take part in that. The coffin was stuffed with sparklers which really was cause for joy. As the coffin burned more handfuls of sparklers were thrown in causing blinding flashed and amazing colors. happy happy happy. I drank several glasses of the most delicious cider I have ever had in my life. What followed was a wine tasting. 16 people, 18 bottles of wine = happiness
what a day what a day.
On Saturday I woke up with a pretty wicked hangover, that didn't make me happy but remembering the night before brought back the happy. I played an intense game of settlers of catan which always brings on the happiness. I discovered hot sauce in my mailbag. Drank tasty beers. Took a walk with alissa out in the woods. Saw two huge red tail hawks and 3 ravens. Later I saw a raven chasing off one of the redtails. Saturday was very relaxing. Good for the soul. Sitting by the fire hanging out with good people. Family dinner with crazy attire and an impromptu santa rampage. Seeing all the kids running around and having a great time., White elephant gift exchange. Briefly having possession of an amazing jacket but ending up with an elf soap dish. Dance party in the barn where the majority of dancers were children. Impromptu live jam session with peter Fury. Consuming the most delicious Syrah I have ever had the pleasure to taste. Thanks Face! Another wine tasting gathering starting at 2AM. Improv reverse charade belly dancing. Watching the dark sky turn light. Falling asleep in the arms of my lovely wife. So much awesome... so little time
Sunday was saying goodbye to lovely people. Leaving the place better than we found it. Watching the kids make HUGE soap bubbles. Hugs and gratitude to go around. Putting alissa to bed for a nap. Playing more Dragon Age at home.. Watching 30 rock on netflix late into the night. Ending with more laughter. AWESOME
